Educators & Parents

We are very pleased to announce the start of the 2022 Clemente Community Challenge for students in grades 6-8. This free program and competition provides educators and/or participating parents all the teaching materials needed to help teams of students lead their own school or community service projects.

The Clemente Community Challenge is inspired by one of the greatest athletes of the 20th century, Roberto Clemente, who was also an exemplary humanitarian. Clemente’s commitment to serve others continues through the Roberto Clemente Foundation’s mission of Building Nations of Good. The Clemente Community Challenge is designed to have young people honor Roberto Clemente’s legacy through their own school or community projects.

Key Program Objectives

The Clemente Community Challenge Educator Guide is designed to help you meet the following key program objectives:

Motivate young people to help others by identifying a need or charitable cause, developing an action plan, and implementing a service project.

Honor Roberto Clemente’s core values through service projects.

Produce a two-minute video documenting service projects team advisors can submit to the Clemente Community Challenge.

Enjoy the many benefits of participating:

Get the chance for one of your student teams (or an individual student)—and you (or a parent/adult advisor)—to win the Grand Prize: Opening Day 2023 tickets to an MLB game, a $500 Savings Bond plus a Samsung tablet!
